S-03's or RE750's - Opinions please!

Hey all, it's time for new tires. I'm torn between the S-03's or the RE750s. I know the S-03s are better handling, but is the difference in handling a worth the extra $150. I'll spend the extra $$$ if everyone says they're a world of difference, but with the pending release of the ECUTEK for the STi, I'm saving money where possible!!!

Also, how long do the S-03s last based on moderately aggressive driving habits. My stock RE070s lasted me about 14K miles (could have lasted maybe till 17K if alignment wasn't jacked), if that's some sort of baseline to go by.

Thanks!!!

Jason

Yes, there is a world of difference. After driving on the RE070s, the 750s will feel like a HUGE step down. You could get an easy 15-20k on the S03s if you get the car aligned with zero toe (camber is okay up to 1.5 degrees).

the handling and performance difference between the 2 is pretty huge ....... I do know some people who have gotten 20k miles with ease and others (me for instance) that don't get near that many miles ....... it's all about the driver

Thanks guys! That pretty much settles it. After I get things settled with Les Schwab (sp?) for jacking up my alignment, I'm getting a set of S-03s. If I go with TireRack, which I normally do (unless les schwab gives me a huge discount), I'll call you, Luke.

Thanks!!!!

what abt RE750 compare to the old RE730? i remeber the ratings on the RE730s were pretty high, not too far down from SO3s. if the 750s are the new version of the 730s, they cant be worse than the 730s........................ right?

I'm running the RE750's now, and for daily driving, sometimes aggressively, I can say that they are a dream compared to the RE92's. I've never driven S03's so I can't compare, but from what I've heard, if you ever track or Auto-X, go for the S03's. Oh, and IMHO, the RE750's are excellent, EXCELLENT, on wet pavement.

s03's hands down. they're a bit pricey, but you'll know where the money went when you push it around the corner!

Yes. In any given size the S03s are going to give you the biggest contact patch of any street tire.
