Rota Battle 17" with what tires and brakes?
Hey all. New to the forums, new to my Subaru (new to my first new car actually!).
I'm thinking of replacing the stock 16s on my 03 WRX Sedan with Rota Battle 17". I was wondering if anyone had suggestions for some tires to run them on, preferably decently priced all-season tires that have good road noise and wear (Thinking Sumitomo HTR... tirerack.com reviews seem high on that tire, especially for $99 apiece).
Also, if anyone has any suggestions as to bigger brake kits that will fit under the Rotas, that'd be great. I was looking into Wilwoods, but I dunno if they'd fit under a 17. Maybe fit under the 18, but it depends on how concave the back of the Rota Battles are.
So yeah, half of this belongs in this forum, the other half belongs in brakes.
Thanks much,
Fuzzy

Fuzzy,
My 18" Battles (silver) are getting mounted today. I bought Yokohama AVS ES 100 (225/40w/18) to go with them. Reviews on the tire seemed good. I purchased them from Tirerack for $134 ea. It's a beautiful tire, some may not like the directional pattern, but it suits me fine.
I can't give you any advice on brake kits, I haven't journeyed into that territory yet.

Brakes:
Stoptechs fit under 17s and it is a great kit
Wilwoods fit under 16's depending on which ones you get. But they require constant attention as they do not have the dusty boots like other calipers.
Subaru 4-pots fits under some 16 inch wheels but not the stock WRX wheels.
Brembos, not sure of as I have very little experience with them because of the price.
