What color do you think i should paint my 03 stock rims? I drive a wrb wrx... Since im getting any color rim paint for free let me know what color would be cool. I already have bronze rims.. So anything but bronze.

 

I have a set of ADR Ricochets black with a silver lip that I painted blue to 'almost match' the car, which so happens to be WR_Blue, and they look pretty good.

 

Where did you get the paint to match your car and what kind of paint is it? How difficult was prepping the rims? I was thinking about painting my aftermarket rims also, but wasnt sure on how to do it.

you can either go to the dealer or go to any paint supply shop, for me I went to color brite here in Racine WI, and they mixed me some wr blue that was close.. I also went to Walmart and got some self etching primer and a bright blue paint for the wheels.... and did I mention they are for sale with tires?


I used enamel based for starters, you can use engine paint or some type of high temp paint... It took about 3 weeks to do 4 wheels from start to finish. cleaning the serfice, sanding, and grinding at times. masking off the parts that you dont want color. spray primer base coat, sand, re-apply primer, sand, then spray color, then sand, then re-apply color one final time... I did this for all four wheels.

 

paint them gold like the 2002 stock sti wheels from japan.

the gold would look sick with that wheel style, especially on a blue wrx.

just my opinion.

 

If you have a program photoshop (or one like it) you can change the color of the wheels and see what looks the best. I would go either Bronze/Gold, Black or a Dark Grey.

and yes pink would be different and not look too bad on a black or silver rex, not too sure about blue.

If it were my car i would get a dark graphite gray metallic or a gun metal.. then again im just a sucker for those colors!

 

not a fan of the pink, i vote for gold

 

Black rims look like poop on a blue car. gunmetal, bronze, or silver.

This should give you a good idea...If it were me, id paint them the same color as the first red rex or if u have an sti, the black sti's rims look sick.
