Recommend me some 17/18s rims
Hey guys, I am looking for some 17x8 or 18x8 rims, still hasn't decided which size to go for, but I have found it really hard to get any 17x8 rims.
The only ones that I have seen are from Rotas, I love the Subzero 17x8 looks, but I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendation for other rims that are 17x8 or 18x8 that is gunmetal/black w/ polished lip.
My budget is around 1000-1400 w/o tires
Also, does 18s really give you that bad of a ride compare to 17s? it should improve performance though right?

Sorry, I mean the Tarmac II, I wish they make the subzero in 8in.
What I mean to say was I want something that is 8in wide and has the style of Subzero.

I can't say enough good things about the SSR Competitions. I put the 17 X 7.5" wheels on my '03 WRX Sedan and love them.
SSR Comps are strong, feather light semi-solid forged wheels. They are nicely finished with a machined lip and center cap and come with optional use stickers. SSRs are a bit pricey, but a great value for the performance that you get.
I chose 225 45 17 tires to go with these wheels. I thought about going with the 18" wheels but decided against it. 18" is fine if you want to street the car or run it only on well-maintained track surfaces, but they are a little too dainty for real world driving out on the roads. With the 18" wheels I would need to run a tire with a 40 aspect ratio, and that's just not enough sidewall to absorb impacts that could bend any rim. There have been several times when I've hit a rock or run over a pothole because the alternative was going off the road or swerving head-on into oncoming traffic. 17" rims are a little stronger and the 45 aspect ratio of the matching tire is a bit more forgiving.

But anyways, what wheel is that? Weight? Who makes it?
