RE92s in the snow

The stock tires on the '05 WRX (I think they're Bridgestone RE92s) suck in the snow. No traction at all when cornering. I thought they were supposed to be all-season tires??? I know... I know...

Just venting

When they are new, they are passable in the snow.

according to the tirerack website...
How Did This Tire Rank In Its Category? 21 out of 22 tires (Score of 5.1 vs best tire in category score of 8.8)

I always thought that they were pointless. Even though I still use them in the winter (for now)

1st winter: perfectly fine.
2nd winter: dodgy at best.
3rd winter: bought dedicated winter tires.

I couldn't believe how true the 20,000 miles statement was. After that they are complete crap in the snow and get hairy in the rain as well.

I've just crossed 20,000 on mine and they handle really bad in the wet (even worse than before) so I can't imagine how they'll be in the snow. I'm going to get some new tires this week I think.

60k

I've put 60k on these stockers.

36k on my first odometer and (66k-42 = 24K).

yea... unless i've completely forgotten about investing 400 bucks on new tires... yea, i've been on these bastards for 60k miles. Is that right?? Is that possible?

I must have bought new tires along the way at some point....

Anyway. i'm from boston and now chicago... and yet i've survived the snow and rain.

But i was doing 85 in the rain on the way to midway and it started feeling like i was steering a boat...

So now i'm having the Falken Ziex's installed tomorrow.
