Question Prodrive P1 Wheels

i've been searching for a long time for good wheels, the other day i came across the prodrive p1 18x7.5 inch wheels. i really like the gold and gunmetal colors. the design is great and they're made by oz racing so i know they have good quality (plus they're the same wheels on the impreza wrc). i was just wondering if anybody has these wheels and if so what they think of them? the price is right where im looking are they worth it? thanks

I used to have that same set. They are definitely solid. They are kind of heavy, but they were my street wheels, so I didn't care too much.

I really like them. They look perfect on an Impreza.

Yea I used to have the anthracite 17's... man I loved those wheels. You won't regret buying them. I'm just on some gunmetal rotas right now and don't like them nearly as much as the P1's.

Question they WON'T clear brembo break calipers?

here's my next question...it says on the prodrive website the p1 wheels won't clear the brembo break calipers. i was thinking about getting those but i definately won't if the wheels don't work. if the p1's won't clear the brembo calipers will they clear any after market big break kits? what about ap, stoptech, racing break, etc? i dont know if i want the wheels if there's no room for breaks in the future...let me know guys. thanks

I have had a set that moved from my 99 2.5RS to my 02 WRX and now on my 04 Forester XT. These wheels have taken a severe beating and are still going. Very strong, look good and made by OZ, perfect wheel for the street IMO.

On the brake issue, on my WRX I was running the Prodrive/Alcon 4-pot setup with 330mm rotors. The wheels were designed to clear those calipers, and as such I think it makes them incompatible with many other brake kits, I do know they don't clear the Brembos but I cannot speak for the others you listed.

The Brembo's are shaped really largely, actually. The part of the brembo caliper that is hitting is probably just a small corner that bulges out.

The 18" P1s I used to have came off a car that had the 328mm Stoptech kit. No issues with that setup.

I have them in 18" Gunmetal and have no complaints. They look like they were made for the car and are extremely strong. The only thing I don't like is that they are only 7.5" wide, if they were 8" wide they would be perfect.
