If you've had a lot of weight in the car for a prolonged period, that could be the cause. With MacPherson struts added weight creates negative camber, and inside tire wear. The inside wear will tend to ripple the tread on that side. If you take the wheel off you will notice that the leading edge of the tread will look loose (the look is difficult to describe). You might try taking a file to the leading edges all the way around the tire. If you get rid of the "loose" bits it should fix the noise problem.
This advice is from personal experience gained from travelling across Canada and back (15000kms) in a heavily loaded Legacy wagon.

Brandon,

That's interesting. I have the same tires in the same size on my wagon with about 20k miles and no noise whatsoever. I did rotate after winter in a cris-cross pattern. If you have two jacks and some stands, give this rotation a try. It might feel strange for a hundred or so miles but it may be a solution short of replacement.
