Your gas gauge is malfunctioning. FYI, the air you breathe is around 78% nitrogen so I can't see how adding 22% nitrogen in your tires will increase fuel mileage.

agreed ... it's all hype .... there is no difference providing you properly maintain your tires

Read the FAQ on the site. It does NOT say that nitrogen improves fuel economy. It says that nitrogen can help maintain a constant pressure and that properly inflated tires have less rolling resistance. The same thing can be achieved by regularly (at least monthly) checking your tire pressures.

[EDIT] Furthermore, even if the tires are filled with nitrogen, they should still be checked regularly. [/EDIT]

The only problem I see with that is the fact that no one will see the fuel economy increase that you claim. There is absolutely no way a 22% increase of nitrogen in your tires will achieve what you're claiming.

Your claim is a bit vague so please explain with more detail. If you don't know the mileage difference from before and after the change how many miles did you travel and how much fuel did the car consume on that trip? How much fuel did the car consume on that same trip before the nitrogen injection?

Luke

It's nice to see you on the boards again. There are a lot of BS claims around here and I think we need to hear from people like yourself so members don't end up wasting $ on stuff that won't work on their car.

well i went about 630 miles and the trip is about 12hrs long when i leave Nc to go to Pa it normally takes about 3 to stop for gas,now bear in mind that it takes 2hrs with traffic just to get to I95 then i hit traffic in Maryland then I hit traffic in Harrisberg Pa so it no all highway.I normally fill up at 1/4 tank.by the time i get in Pa i have about a 1/4 tank of gas(93oct).On my last trip i fill up the same 3 times but had littel over a 1/2 tank of gas (93oct).imake this trip quite often. Now IF you can maintain consant pressure in you tires + or- 1psi why would it not be possibel. An that trip is going both ways.

The people like you comment was directed at Luke and the BS comment was not directed at you either. Luke works for Tire Rack and he knows a thing or two about wheels and tires. I'm not saying you're trying to BS people. I'm thinking you either have a faulty gas gauge or your tire pressure was way too low on all of your other trips. Do me a favor and see what kind of mileage you're getting the next time you fill up. I think you'll find that you're car is not getting anything better than any other WRX under the same conditions.

What "kit" did you have to buy for $39.99?

Basicaly the nitrogen, cerfificte of inflation for free refils and incase of a blow out they will replace the tries, green stem caps for the tire to indicate to the techs at the dealership that there is nitrogen in the tires and a sticker that goes on the pillar by drivers door,it really aint nothing special car rides a bit smoother.
