Well I guess the guy at ccw didn't know what he was talking about. He said yeah, you'll have to roll and pull, and do camber adjustments, but he didn't make it seem like it was gonna be an insane amount of work to get them to fit, and I mentioned spacers and he said that I wouldn't have to use them. Maybe I can use 255's instead. he also said that this was a good "area of sizes and measurements" to make it not have the slammed look and not the hella flush look. I'm not going lowered but only a little.

I explained to him that I live where the roads aren't so great, and I also I didn't want lowered/slammed/hella flush, or stretched tire look, and that I wanted the deepest rd I could get with a offset that would clear the front calipers. I also mentioned that I wanted 17's with a set up that would allow minimal compromise with adjustments and body modification, and a street/track once a month type set up, an those are the numbers he threw at me along with camber adjustments, and fender rolling( which I'm ok with) since I'm not doing the K flares.
He said the 17x9 with a 2"rd with +35 or so, and 17x9.5 with a 2.5" rd and + 25 with the roll, pull, and camber adjustment.
I also hate how every time I get on one of these forums all anyone says is research. I've been scouting the web for the last month getting research, looking all through the forums, and trying to get people to actually talk to about this.
No one uses the 17's like I want to. I know it's possible because people are doing it with even bigger wheels. So there's no way that a 17 is gonna basically force me to go k flares or wide body. Maybe I'll just go for a 17x8 or 8.5. Idk man.

The Meaty Tire Thread - NASIOC

You may want to dig through Horse's history to get more details. That thread is also a very good wealth of various meaty set-ups.

If you want a deep wheel you will have to sacrifice offset. A lower offset just means that you will need more camber to keep the tire in the fender. Roughly, 1 degree of camber amounts to about 5mm or tire movement towards or away from the fender or strut, or 5mm in offset. Once you figure out how far away the hub mounting surface is from the fender and the strut, it is pretty easy to do the math to figure what will fit and what kind of alignment you'll need.

I'm working with all stock numbers right now(17x7.5 +53 225/45r17) because I'm doing the engine and tranny first (MAPerformance build) then I'm going with suspension, wheels and tires after that. I'm just trying to plan a little ahead.
Yeah I'll look through that thread. Thanks man.

The guy T3h_clap had ccw custom make him 17x10's and he used 275/40r17's with a -1.7 camber adjustment, maybe some rolling, I didn't get that far into the article. http://t3hclap.com/archives/40
But either way, Wray said that they could make the 17x9.5 wheel custom to clear the calipers and have the 2.5" rd with minimal camber and body modification. He said no spacers, and +25 offset with 265's. So I guess when I actually get to this point the man at ccw will hook me up with the right fitment.
Thanks for the links.
