MX's are cheaper, not quite as good in the wet.

I have S03s, some friends have MXs. Based on our notes, the MX are very close to the S03s in the dry, just not nearly as good in the wet. If you won't be driving in the rain, or these are a second set for weekend/autocrossing, then MX is good enough.

Thumbs up

I use my MX's for everyday driving, Auto-X and, Trackdays. I even bought them in 205 55/ 16. These tires are great in the dry and fine in the wet. I have never pushed them in the rain and i never intend to. I have about 8,000 miles on them and they are holding up great except i made the biggest mistake i made was not getting an alignment some pretty good uneven wear on the outside . But there is still plenty of traction on the inside, so a good amount of negative camber is going to be dialed in b4 the next track day to get what ever else the MX's have left to offer. I will definately be buying these tires again.

I have no experiences with the mx's. Two weeks ago a set of S03's were put on my wrx. I can vouch for excellent traction in the rain as it rains often here!

p.s. I live in Eureka Calif not..Sac....

Where are you located at?? Im in hawaii it doesn't rain that much, and it sure doesn't snow here so the MX's are my cheap alternitive to the S03's. I love them and will stand by them all the way. Track proven.

I consider the MX to be the S-03 for the financially concious, if you will. Dry traction is surprisingly similar, with the MX feeling every bit as responsive. Wet traction is taken by the S-03. Not only when the tires are new, but even more as they start to wear because the S-03 has the dual layer (UNI-T AQII) tread that maintains wet traction like no other. Also, I've had a couple of issues on domestic cars where the MX has been quite noisy, but it hasn't been routine so I usually don't mention that in pitching the MX to an import owner.
