Have you autox'd or road raced on race rubber? I'm curious how large of a difference there is between rr and high performance street tires.

unfortunatly i have not. i know a lot who have and they all say it makes a big difference. i was actually/am still thinking of getting some toyo ra-1s instead of s-03s as my next tires. and run those all the time till winter gets here.

I haven't yet had the pleasure of running on real R-compounds, but I have some anecdotal evidence to share. I can run with WRXs on my S03s when they are on street tires, but an R-compound equipped Mini Cooper S (with barely more power/weight than my car) owned me at Thunder Hill. It makes a huge difference in cornering and exit speeds.
