Hankooks tires any good?

Hi everyone, I've been searching the forum and I couldn't come up with any hits, so here goes the post. Does anyone know if these tires are any good? Model is Sport K104?

Also, I am planning to get these and put on my stock wagon, tire size is 235/40/17, do you think this will fit w/o rubbing? I've read that the 225/45/17s rub on a stock wagon, but I don't know if the 40, instead of the 45 would help out.

TIA,

John

Daredevil, I checked them out, but I still don't know for sure. I don't think they have Hankooks and for some reason, I couldn't get a pic of my wagon with the 235/40/17 tires...what am I missing...other than some IQ?

TIA.

that size tire can fit, you will probably have to roll your fenders and it also depends on the offset of the wheels

the 235/40/17 also have a .6 inch smaller outer diameter than 225/45/17 so that might make a little difference but at the same time you are wider so you put yourself closer to the fender

I don't know anyone personally who's running Hankook tires of any size. I've seen the pics of the racy-looking tread pattern in magazines but if you're looking for an inexpensive performance tire, you might try Kumho Ecsta MX or Falken Azenis.

You can use Daredevil's Tire Rack link to see how the Kumho's rate against other high-performance summer tires (these aren't all-season tires). Tire Rack no longer carries Falkens.

Thanks guys! These tires are on ROTAs, so offset is 48. I don't drive aggressive at all. So I hope my stock set up can accomodate these wheels.

Hankook is literally "Korea" in Korean.
So you're driving "Korea Tires"
Seems like they're being marketed pretty aggressively though... I mean, look at the SCCA sponsorship deal and all...

Who knows - maybe they'll be another small company success story. I remember many years ago when it seemed like Kumho and Falken came outta nowhere and just started showing up on autocross cars. This is before I even saw (or noticed) any magazine ads.

Falken's are actually Japanese. Called Ohtsu in Japan (ie Ohtsu Falken Azenis)
