Ecsta V700's Okay for street use ?
Does anybody here run R compounds such as the V700's on the street ? I only put on about 7000 miles per year on my 02 WRX and live in hawaii where it never snows but sometimes rains. Pretty much summer year round. If I got some V700's and didn't shave them how many miles could I expect to get out of these tires.....fairly aggressive driving

many people run R-compounds on the street ..... (me included) as far as miles it really depends on the driver .... I probably will only get about 4k miles because of track days and AutoX's but, be very careful in the rain

If you want R tires, I think Toyo RA-1's, Yokohama A032R or any "endurance" roadrace tire would be a better choice for driving on public roads. After the first 2 or 3 thousand miles, your tread depth will probably be close to nothing and you will hydroplane if there is standing water.
The Ecsta V700 is even softer compound than the Victoracer V700. If you're set on Kumhos, the Victoracer will last slightly longer.
