does a wrx wagon look weird at stock height with rims?
I want to get 17" rims with 225 45 17 tires on my wrx wagon. Will it look weird at stock height? The overall diameter should be slightly larger, taking up more space in the wheel well but I'm not sure how it would look. I do not plan on lowering my wagon.

I think that putting on 17's with the stock rims will look fine. 18's will be fine also. In the end, it depends on what you like. It is your car and you are entitled to make the way you want it. So if you think it is weird than it is your opinion. But I see nothing wrong with putting larger wheels on the wagon.
As for wheels, if you are going 17's then a 17x7 or a 17x7.5 would work. For 18's, you can go 18x7.5. For tires I would recommend a 215/45R17, because I know friends that rub with 225/45R17s with the stock suspension setup.
As for what tires to put on? It will depend on what your purposes are.

The wagon does not have the generous fender clearance as the sedan does. The flare on the sedan is noticeble larger. That is the reason why you can run a 225. The width difference between a 225 and 215 is supposed to be 10mm but this will vary slightly with every manufacturer. They will rub a little in the rear depending on how hard you push the car because my friend drives his car hard and he gets them to rub easily.

it looks ok.
i got a silver 03 wagon w/ 17" anthracite prodrive p1's and 225/45 kumho MX tires. it has the spt suspension right now which keeps it at a pretty much stock height and i get no rubbing at all. if i can get pics i'll post them.
soft stock suspension may have different results though. luke at tirerack hooked up the perfect rims and tires for me. b

ok, i got a pic posted
the camera angle was funny which is why the rear looks like it has positive camber, but it is just a camera distortion. b

hmm.
sorry, rudedog, but you pics aren't working for me. anyways, i am not sure because i had my SPT stuff before the rims. i have a feeling my car lifts up and slides before it bites and really compresses the suspension to the point of my rim hitting. but then again, the spt stuff is stiffer than stock.

ps. i like the look of my p1's, but if i could do it again, i would have spent more and gotten light superleggs or something lighter.

check your oz sls thread
warpdrive has a good pic of the oz superleggs on a stock height wagon. nice, but i don't care for the red writing. my prodrives personally look cleaner with black writing(especially center piece) and maybe because of the darker color? i actually would get the gold ones for some reason. b
I have JDM STI wheels on my wagon. 17x7.5 with Potenza RE040 225x45x17 rubber. I get no rubbing with stock suspenson, however I feel the front could drop an inch but don't want to mess up its handling characteristics

All this room begging for Brembo's. If only they weren't so expensive
