Regarding bronze Volks CE28Ns: we have suicidal curbs here that occasionally jump out and throw themselves under your wheels causing curb rash.
Problem is that when there is a scratch in the bronze anodizing, the "bright silver" of the aluminium rim shows through.
The areas are mostly small or at least involve just the edge of the rim. I know that I can sand these small rough spots smooth, but does anyone know any way to fix the COSMETIC issue?
It is not a "paint", since I don't want to paint or powdwrcoat the wheels. It seems like what you would need is some sort of "stain" for the aluminium that would match the bronze, like a "bronze sharpie". (I have often used a black sharpie for small repairs on black plastic, rubber or other small black items). Similar to those "wood stain" repair pens for furniture.
One undesirable, but possible, option might be to sand the anodizing from ENTIRE cirrcumferance of the rim edge, like the "dark anodized w/ polished lip" wheels that are sold that way on purpose.
thanks.
