Confirmation on Fitment

Looking at picking up a used set of rims/tires for my 05 wrx wagon. Will a 225/45/17 on a 17x7.5 Rota Subzero 48 offset fit on my car? It is my understanding that I have to run a 215 but I read otherwise somewhere else? Anyone give me a confirmation on fitment?

Thanks in advance.

You might have to roll your fenders. Which tires are you specifically running? Some tires will run wider or narrower then their factory spec, which is why 225/45/17 sometimes fit without issues and will sometimes require you to roll your fenders.

Tires are sumitomo htr+s 225/45/17 ...not a tire I would pick but Ill wear em out during the winter if I end up picking up these rims and replace them with some summer tires when the spring rolls around. also forgot to mention that this will be with a stock suspension (unless a sway bar affects ride height )

A lot of people say they do fine w/ that setup on their wagon, and some say they rub. I bought a set of 04 sti bbs wheels so I can run 225's safely. Also, tire choice matters. Some tires have a slightly wider cross section and might rub.

sedans have more room for fatter tires, wagons sometimes have problems with rubbing in the rear
