What's the difference between the finishes for the RX and RGR. I know that the RX is bright silver paint and the Tirerack site states that the RGR finish is Bright Satin Sil. What does that mean. The site depicts a wheel that seems kinda dark. Is the wheel silver? How does it look on a car in real life? Does anyone have a decent pic.
Any and all help would be appreciated.

The names of each color are a bit confusing. The pictures are quite indicative of the actual color - we take them in standardized conditions in terms of lighting and environment. You can see in the pics the difference in color - you can also go to the BBS area of the Tire Rack Website find larger views of these pics:

Fundamental differences between RX & RGR?
Hey Dexter,
Thanks for all your help here.
Another question for you: I noticed that there is a pretty big price difference between the RX and the RGR, are there any differences between them other than the slight color difference and slightly different spoke pattern? In other words what makes the RGR superior to the RX? Construction? Is one lighter? Does one come with a little gremlin that will clean your car overnight? Or perhaps a garuntee to meet beautiful, morally casual women within the first 24hrs of installing one wheel over the other?
Thanks man,
David

Biggest difference - the RGR is forged - which makes the metal stronger per unit. For this reason, spokes can be made smaller and geometry can change. The wheels are listed at roughly the same weight, (~17lbs.) but the RGR is 7.5" wide and the RX is 7. Both have offset 48mm which is right on.
The RGR is new, the finish is unique, and it has the word "forged" forged into the lip. There is a "buzz" and a reputation about BBS forged wheels. This makes people take a second look. No gremlins though...

Dexter:
I was told by a Tirerack rep. on the phone that the RX is not available for the WRX. Apparently the BBS wheel offered by Subaru is specially made with a 55 mm. offset which would explain the ridiculous price, notwithstanding the fact that it is being sold by the dealer.
Will the RX offered by Tirerack fit the WRX?
Thanks for all your help.
Does anyone out there have a picture of their car with the RGR's on it?

RS-GTs for STi ??
Dexter,
I think the BBS RS-GTs (two-piece version of the RG-Rs) are available for the STi, at least according to the BBS-Japan website.
I know TireRack sells the RS-GT. Can you check/confirm that these will clear the STis Brembos without spacers, and will you be stocking them (particularly in all three available colors). The only thing that bothers me here, is the offset (ET40).....does that sound OK for an 18x8" wheel ?
Any advice/info would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Bill.
BBS RS-GT,
Type 931
Size 18x8"
ET=40
H/PCD = 5x100
Bore = PFS
Weight = 9.1 kg (20.0 lbs)
Available in gold, silver and diamond black)
