I called Mackin Industries about this. A 44mm offset in the CE28N will not clear the calipers. Brembo is wrong. According the the Mackin Sales Rep, he told me that you need 33mm offset in the CE28N for the STi. Yes I did say 33mm offset. They said that those they test fit on the car and there were no handling differences and the wheel sat more flush with the fenders.

Here's the list of wheels I have to fit an '03 sedan with brembo upgrade (p/n 1A1.6010, four pots w/328mm rotor):

17 ASA FR1
17 ASA LW5
17 Mille Miglia Action
18 Mille Miglia Avia
17 Mille Miglia Cup 3S Sport
18 O.Z. Superleggera
18 O.Z. Superleggera III
17, 18 Sport Edition Fox 2
17, 18 Sport Edition Fox 2 Sport
17, 18 SSR Competition
17 SSR GT1

All are offset 48-52mm.

I just called Mackin Industries and they said 17"x8" 44 offset ce28n will fit our 04 STi. And I suspect if your car is lowered, you might need to roll your rear fenders.
