275's on an 8 inch wheel?

i have a killer deal on some hoosier tires in 275/45/16 and im wondering if they will fit on a 16x8 rim or will i have to search for a 16x9?

also, if the 16x9 is the case, where can i find some 16x9's? i dont think ive ever seen any

I think you are going to need to find something bigger than 8" width wheels. 275 is a wide tire. 255 is a wide tire. Even if you could get the wheels onto your car, would you even be able to get them to clear your fender?

255's were pretty much the limit on my 17x8's.

You should really worry about getting your car taken care of first. One step at a time. Even if you did have your car completely swapped, you still kind of have to remember that it takes power to run on bigger tires, not to mention that you'll have to keep in mind that they are a little harder on your brakes. I'll be honest, I don't think I know many people that run anything bigger than 255, that even that is considered big.

my friends mustang GT 5.0L has 275 wide tires in the rear.. and they look way to big for a Subaru!

yea i know getting the car working is my first priority. its at a shop right now and when i have extra time that would have been with the car i look at prospective tires and wheels for autox and some track stuff.
After the car is done ill probably end up driving it for fun and doing an autocross but then i want to step it up and do some more competitive stuff.

i was talking to a guy who has some hardly used hoosiers for less than half the price of new ones so i thought it would be awesome to run 275's. we'll see, hopefully the car will be done before the week is over.
