225s on a 7" wide wheel
Hey guys,
Just wondering if its a good idea to run 225s on a wheel thats 7" wide. I just dont want to have too much "slop" in the sidewall. Any advice or opinions is appreciated. I'm looking at 225/45/17 Azenis 615s or Hankook RS2s to put on the stock 07 WRX wheels.
Thanks,
David

I think you'd better off getting 8" or at least 7.5" lighter wheels. Those OEM 06-o7 WRX wheels are HEAVY! Save the stock wheels/tires for winter use or going up to Tahoe.

7.5 will hold the 225's from what I was told 7" wont properly and it can be a safety issue because they are a little wider than they should be. I could call a tire shop and ask.

I got 225's on my 7" SSR rims Type-C,..shouldn't be much of a concern except that you wont get the sidewall stiffness and responsiveness you might want, and that a 225 is slightly heavier for the same brand tire,..
