i want to put slicks on and im going to buy a set of rims

how wide can i go on the rims?

 

why would you want slicks on an awd? youll break the drivetran. but i think on a 17", the widest is 8" with maybe a 235/45, but i think that might rub. depends on if your lowered.

i am running 235/45R17's right now and its not rubbing. it was, but i rose the car up about 1/8" and its fine now. I was told you could go with a 245 but it would have to be a lower profile tire when I was getting my tires back in August

ive run 255/40/17 on a 8.5 rim 45 offset. coilovers and links. and i cut the rear fenders.

Mike, I'd go with 235/45 on a 17x8 or 17x8.5. Watch your offsets when you buy wheels, keep it high.

 

i have 235 on there now

but i want to go a bit wider with the slicks

i was gonna go with GC 05s

 

Remember to check the physical width of the tires you buy. Not all 235s are created equal. Some are more equal than others. 235/45R17 R-Compunds will be wider than your current 235s.
