225/40/18s on my '05 Legacy Wagon?
I'm looking into stepping up to 18s. It seems like all the tire websites these will fit on my Legacy with 5 x 100 bolt pattern. I'm still a bit confused on the offset though. Some say +45, others differ.
Any advice out there? What about tire rub on cornering with this larger size and width?
How are the guys at Tire Rack and another website called Wheels Next? (I know Tire Rack moderates, but whats the word out there?)
Oh, also, it seems the Kumho STA ASX (or something like that) is a good tire for the $$. Opinions?

goto LegacyGT.com and go to the wheels/tires forum,..there is a faq on wheels and what will fit etc,..
People have 19" rims on their 05 GTs and most have either 17" or 18"s,..
I ordered 18" with a +45 offset,..

225/40/18 with a +45 offset should be no problem. I have slight rubbing with 225/40/18, but with a +53 offset. +45 should present no problem whatsoever, as it fixes where I am rubbing (and it is only slightly rubbing).
I'd say +48 should be the highest offset you get, and +42 is about as low as I'd go for 18" wheels.
