215 or 225 tire on 17" ROTA???
The reason I ask is a 215 is optional original equipment, even though most people I know run a 225 tire with 17x7.5 wheel. So why is it most people run 225's and will running these affect odometer and speed measurments? Thanks.

People run wider tires (225) so they will have a larger contact patch of rubber to the ground, that= better traction depending on tires

The 10mm difference is between the 215/45/17 and 225/45/17. The difference from your stock diameter is about 5mm shorter (215/45/17), or 5mm taller (22/45/17). Just remember that not all manufactures measure from the same point, so actual tire size from brand to brand may vary.
