20" on a subaru legacy. is it possible??

Hi,

My friend is thinking to get 20x8.5 offset 45 (front and rear) on his Subaru Legacy 2000 model (non turbo)

Is it possible?

I've seen 20" on a wrx so I'm guessing 20" on a legacy shouldn't be problem??

What I'm concerned is the width 8.5 and more importantly the offset 45.

Can anyone confirm if they will fit no problem?

What tyres profile should I get?

Thanks
Quick reply please

Are you sure/is youf friend sure that these wheels are 5x100? B/C there are tons of wheels that a 20x8.5in, but most (if not all of them) are 5x112, 5x114.5, 5x115 or 5x120. I have no doubt that one could fit dubs on a Legacy (esp if it were an Outback!) b/c there are smaller sized 20in tires today that were not available 2 or 3 years ago.

yes they are double pcd: 5x100 and 5x114.3

I'm sure 20" will fit, but just not quite sure 8.5" width and the offset 45 will be fine?
and what tyres profile should I get?

I got 18x8.5 +45 on my 05 STi w/ 235/40/18. For 20's i'd go with 225/35/20. Its a pretty low profile so i'd watch out for potholes.
