18inch question
Hello all,
I am the proud new parent of a 2003 black wagon. It has the stock 16inch wheels with the 205/55 -16 Potenzas, but of course, I have been searching far and wide for better wheels.
My question is one I am sure most of you have asked, but I just haven't seen it answered. Whats the ride like on 18inch wheels, versus 17inch wheels?
I know it must be harsher due to less sidewall to buffer, but how much harsher? 10%? 300%? Have any of you gotten 18s and then regretted it? I spend a lot of time in my car (even though I don't have to) and while it perhaps shouldn't be, comfort is a slight issue. Well, mostly to my fiancee...
Thanks a lot,
Stevo

I have 18" superleggeras on my 2002 wrx sedan. I haven't rode with anyone who has 17's, so I can't really compare them for you. But for myself, the 18's were a vast improvement over the stock 16's, performance wise. Road noise is a little more obvious, although no real difference/complaints about comfort levels. Rule of thumb I've read is for performance/less hassle go with the 17's, although I'm very satisfied with the 18's. Hope this helps.
