Why, it's one of the first threads ever after the i-Club - NASIOC split.

 

With the same rolling diameter tire, the 17 will ride a little nicer bcause there is more tire to give. The 18s offer less sidewall flex which means more responsive possibly. Also easier to bend a wheel. I like 17s, but there is nothing wrong with an 18 and in some cases it can have advantages on the track.

One big advantage of 17s is cost both on wheels and tires.

However, it matter more what wheel you choose than of you go 17 or 18
