xede (generates CEL)
xede
I just put my xede in today. Loaded it with the subzero map to get familiar with the workings. Drove the car around the block. Check engine light comes on. Scan tool says its a misfire on all four cylinders.? Anyone else have this problem? Any idea what it may be?
You may have better luck posting your question in the Vishnu forum: https://www.i-club.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=105

I had misfire on all 4 also. It's being caused by very sensitive detection circuitry that noticed that you're doing something different to your engine. You can either (a), not worry about it and only reset it when you need to use the cruise, or (b), have shiv do a reflash to "suppress" the codes, along with other "improvements", like he did on mine.

reflash like ECUTEC? or reflash the software on the XEDE. Unless you already have a ECUTEC reflash you need a license. Usually what those misfires mean is that the stock ECU sees a greater difference than the factory set tolerances. Now if Shiv can suppress codes via ECUTEC I am interested as well I have a P0137 that keeps coming back
(and yes he did tune my car)

I've had the same problem. You will have to have your ECU sent to Vishnu and have them reflash it with Ecutek and then you can modify the signals to the ECU with Xede
The reflash will supress the CEL's
There is no other way around it. Xede does not have the CEL remove options like Utec does.
This is why I sold my Xede

hmm.. technically one should not remove any codes. you do not know if they are a real event and it is trying to warn you. I mean if you had real misfires wouldn't you like to know?

Call me old school, but...
I can feel it when a car is truely misfiring, having been raised on cars without this feature.
I think it's too sensitive - mostly to protect the maunfacturer from those who can't tell a misfire from a pothole...YEMV
