Re-occurring CEL that generates NO code (was: What is wrong with my car)
Well let me start i got my car brand new with 3.1 miles on it(i think i know it was under 10) and broke it in with utmost care, i than switched to mobil 1 synthetic and got a K&N, and proceeded to rally all over my state. i have just under 30,000 miles on it now, but for the past 5000 miles i get a CEL, that shows no codes whatsoever it only does this when i drive for ten miles at 55-60mph, than it pops on and never turns off unles i reset the ecu. and i can always get it to come on just by keeping steady throttle. and can make it not come on just by varying my throttle. ive brought it in to the dealership and they say with no codes there is nothing they can do. Im just about to firebomb something, im going nuking futz. does anyone have any idea what this could be. i am clueless as to the cause of this CEL. PLEASE HELP A FELLOW SPEEDFREAK

What kind of car dude? Short ram K&N or K&N drop in filter? You got any exhaust mods? If its the short ram K&N just by itself, that could be throwing your CEL light.

Im getting the same thing on my 06 wrx with a K&N Typhoon intake, STi intercooler, Helix turbo back, and cutstom tune by GST. It wont come on all the time, but it has happened about 4 times in the last 3 weeks. When I check it with the AP or at autozone, no code appears.
I was getting the same thing on my 04 STi and it turned out to be I was running too rich and fouling my 1st Oxygen sensor. I also could not get a code to be read, I ended up going to my local suby dealer and spoke with one of the techs. He connected the Subie specific OBDII reader and found out what was going on.

A bad MAF sensor? The oil from the filter can alter and disrupt the sensor and it's readings. Just an idea. Next place I would look is a bad 02 sensor.
