STi boltons with and without engine management
Hey David,
Are you saying that the Xede controls boost better than the Ecutek? I know I'm not really comparing apples to apples cause my car has a cat but it seems to me that the boost comes on way earlier in this example than on my car. In your test car here you seem to be getting 16 psi by about 2900 rpm and in my car I don't get it til roughly 3600 rpm. Not only that mine seems to peak very briefly to 16.8 and then settle to about 16.4 for about a 500 rpm bandwidth where as this test car peaks to 17.6 and holds well above 16.4 for more than 1900 rpm bandwidth. Can having no cat make this much of a difference or is it that the Ecutek is just inferior to the Xede? My car didn't make much less peak h.p. than this car, 256.5 compared to 261.2 but has no where near the bottom end of this car. All though I'm very happy with how my car runs but you know how the saying goes "it's never fast enough"

I'm sorry if I wasn't very clear. I was actually comparing the results you received with this car and the results we got with my car. As stated before my car has the Ecutek and full exhaust with cat and seems to be quite different from this car with the Xede, catless exhaust and aftermarket BOV. My file is HERTZSTI.030 if you wanted to look at it for comparison purposes. The Xede car seems to have a substantially better boost profile than mine did which may account for the nearly 20 or so more ft lbs and much wider bandwidth with very close hp numbers. Please let me know if I'm reading these graphs wrong.
