Hey Happy,

I get my filter soaking wet often and havent fried it yet. The motor is another question altogether. Finally cracked some ringlands running 8 psi via my M62 and 60 shot of nitrous. But is still runs pretty good, only about 10-15% loss of power.

Not sure if some one else asked, did you make that kit your self or is that something you brought and modified to fit your car. stock internals or what, hows it run compared to a stock wrx. whats a kit like that cost. Alot of questions I know?

Looks good though otherwise, have a dyno sheet?

Hey reddevil, I read about your recent adventures with your car over at nasioc, mad props to you for the complete custom kit. So when is the next rebuild adventure?

This kit was originally a rimmer S/C kit meant for the impreza. My brother brought the car up here from NY and by the time it got here it was all messed up (clicking, clunking, 50psi compression on cyl # 3 and 4, stripped t-belt tensioner bolt (was a b!tch to fix!). Instead of killing the original phace 1 block and replacing it I decided to rebuild it. So when everything was off, it was so easy to access anything that I did some custom porting and polishing on the S/C plumbing. While I had the heads off I took them apart, remachined the valves, polished the heads, replaced the springs, I spaced out and forgot to check the clearnace between the cam lobes and the shims and had to do it once everything was already back in the car, also cleaned the block. The piston rings and rod bearings are very VERY $$$ so I didn't replcae them, so it was kinda a half way rebuild. Well, the first time I started the car it sounded so NICE, and SMOOOOTH in comparison to what it sounded like before. Compared to a stock REX it's a monster! From a roll at city speeds I could leave stock 5mt WRXs 2-2.5 car leangths behind. I was a passenger when a guy in a WRX pulled up next to my brother at 25mph gave him a mean look and slammed on the gas, my brother dropped it into second and after my head hit the head rest the WRX was 2 cars behind us. Unfortunatly the higher the speed the closer it is to a stock rex in acceleration. I have no idea what a kit like this cost when it was introduced to the market (they were out for a short period of time and the company stopped making them because they couldn't keep up with the demands), I saw a guy sell his kit to someone else for $2,000 though, a third of what my impreza cost. Here are some more pictures
The guy next to the car is my brother, I'm the younger guy.
Man this is long! As you can see I love to talk about the car if someoen is interested, or at least pretends to be (reddevil is the same way, so I don't feel too bad)
This is a lot of pictures, I kind of feel like whoring a little bit, just a little

Look at those organization skillz!

Nice job - The motor looks great.

Thanks, I've never had it dynoed, but my best guess would be right around 190whp and about 210 ft/lb.

Erconcepts, which car is yours? I know there are a few RS's at lake washington. Are you in the auto program there?
