Me: Sir, do you know who Vincent Ferrari is?
Him: I'm sorry, I don't know Vincent Ferrari.
Me: Well, talk to your boss and find out, because he has nothing on me.
Him: I don't understand.
Me: Cancel the account or it'll be two lawsuits. Now shut the damned thing off.
It was the same story. I told the guy that I didn't use the account and wanted to cancel. Now, granted, it's his job to try to "save" customers, but when someone is adamant about cancelling their account NOTHING is going to change their mind. I didn't use my AOL, I didn't want to pay for my AOL, and I couldn't care less about AOL. All I wanted to do was cancel my account. I told the guy this and all he could do was argue about how I WAS using my AOL account. Well, no sh*t, of course I was using it.....TO GET MY EMAIL. I even told the guy I had a Yahoo Email account I was using and just didn't need AOL. I eventually told the guy, "Look, put your manager on the phone. I'm not interested in speaking with you any longer and I just want to cancel my account." After I requested to speak with his manager he did agree to cancel the account.
I was ready to snap at the guy. Call back and talk to someone else? Hell no. I'd just tell him to put his boss on the phone and have the guy shafted.
