Having been to a few WRC events I can definitely say it's up to the spectators (as it should be) to position themselves where ever they want. If they're dumb enough to stand on the outside of a downhill hairpin corner in the wet/snow, then so be it, but they do so at their own risk. It's unfortunate that people were injured, but it was truly their own faults.

The WRC will have an extremely difficult time getting an event in the good 'ol U S of A for these reasons alone, let alone the organizational problems we've got here.

Wow thats messed up.... I wonder where that was because like mentioned before in England and Wales theres loads of corners which are barricaded and marked off so no spectators can go and stand on them!!!! you do wonder about people sometimes!!!
