i believe it is 100% rwd because they modded the center differential. the reason why it looks like its not it struggles a little bit is because evo9 has active yaw differential which is still active. the evo 8s in the US do not have active yaw. so it is still transfering power from left to right in the rear wheels.
to make a wrx rwd is pretty easy. you can either go to a junkyard and rip a center diff out and weld it to always give power to the rear wheels and if you want you can remove the front axles. or you can get baller like kumakubo and get the skyline rear diff and drift like mad.
