i know exactly what im comparing. and we all know bikes are fast, thats why its a cool thing when i car beats a bike, especially a 1L bike cause it takes one helluva car to pull that off. but what i dont think you understand is what you can do with a mustang and a couple of turbos (and a **** load more of course). a company in SoCal (X2C motorsports or something like that) put a TT kit on a 03 cobra with the stock engine and an auto tranny and solid rear and went 8.5 @ 154 (pretty sure those are the correct numbers). so like i said, bikes are used as a reference to see how fast a car is cause everyone knows what bikes can do. but when you have a couple turbos on a stang the sky is the limit as far as power goes. and if you build the suspension(or go from a roll) there isnt much that can hang on the streets ( big turbo supras, bikes and other muscle cars are pretty much it). a friend of mine built himself a TT 93 cobra, stock motor including heads and intake, 12psi, THIS THING IS FAST! he hangs with guys in my area that run high 10's and low 11's. there were guys like you that called BS on my friends camaro beating a RC51 and some other bike the other night. then i posted his track vid and dyno graph and the doubters didnt respond anymore. and a race isnt about how big someone ***** are dude, if we wanted to figure that out we could all just drop our pants and compare. a race is about who has the faster vehicle and who is a more capable driver, period. wow i just wrote a ****in essay. and a kenne bell cobra is a (typically) 03-04 cobra with a kenne bell 2.2L twin screw supercharger, capable of making some rediculous horsepower.

thsi was never an argument about a stock this vs. stock that so i dont know why you even brought that up. next your gonna bring out the "well which one costs less" argument which wouldnt get you very far anyways. and saying that a fast "car" is easy to drive is a very ignorant statement. im not saying that a bike is easy to ride, cause i have headr other wise, i just dont think you understand what it takes to drive a truly fast RWD car. maybe thats cause uve never drivin one. i guess i cant talk about the either, the fastest car ive ever driven hard was a SRT10 viper (which is mildly fast i guess).
so tell the guy driving this car that driving a fast mustang is just about putting the pedal to the mettal......

anyways, your obviously one of those domestic hating import lovers. i dunno why people cant just give credit where credit is due. im done with this thread. later.
For the record, that r1 is a 98-2000 wich has approx 140-145 hp(a far cry from the current 185 hp beasts). Not to mention the rider Isn't really crouching and looks to be wearing jeans (Wicth aren't a good choice at 100mph). Maybe a noob. No body's doubting the stang is fast, It's just a lame comparison to see a bike vs. a car with doors, windows, airbags and even a rollcage racing on the street. Guys who try and race bikes on the street are stupid, plain and simple. Not because they have slow cars, but because they don't have respect for anyone but themselves and thier ***** extension.
This would be a better comparison:

not to end the animosity and analysis of the video. I think just simply stated, yes that "stang" has ballz, big ones. Yes the R1 is stupid fast. and yes its a dumb idea to race bike vs car on the street. I was just saying that the rider doesnt appear to be all that experienced, in the particular riding position and the the low sounding revs from which he rolled on. either way, both of those machines are fast as hell. way faster then my 240whp wrx. whether the mustang is faster or not, the fact that its even competition to a street bike is credible. Good for him. And not to open yet another can of worms but think of how much money that guy has put into that car. probably alot. has anyone ever seen those trailored dyno queen Hyabusas. that are turboed running nitrous and making more whp then lots of our subies?

I dunno. I just thought I'd get this question answered.
About the clip.. that was some bike. Looks real nice. Couldn't see the Mustang though. I like Mustangs a whole lot, just don't know much about their stats.

Guys, that was a 2001 YZF-R1... a bike that I used to have. The rider obviously knows the driver of the Mustang and they have got to be working together in order to promote that web site. The R1 was definately not ridden 100%... he was switching gears about 1500 to 2000 rpm shy of redline and in my opinion... he wasn't giving it full throtle for the whole duration of the roll on race. I could do 89 mph in first gear, meaning that if I ripped on the gas at about 70-80 mph my wheel came airborne. My R1 had enough power to pull a wheelie at 113 mph with me sitting down in third gear. My quarter mile time was 10.14 at 142 mph and I registered a top speed of 187 mph "indicated". The real speed was probably 8-10 mph less.
Bottom line- every single car vs. bike race I've watched (Supra, Stang, whatever) had a rider that was either rolling on in 6th gear like a dumbass or he was working with the driver to promote something. True... some cars are wicked fast, but those riders are not riding the bike like to the limit they are capable of.
Think about it... doesn't it seem fishy that there just "happens" to be a camera filming both the race and the pre-race shot of the bike without showing the riders face? Doesn't the race seem staged to you guys? It's clear to me. Frigging Mustang guys.

well said... yes you know your bikes hillwagon. the bottom line is that bike is more hardcore than that stang. driving doesnt give you ballz, its riding a motocycle t hat give you ballz.

hillbilly: where are you located? cause there are some cars here that want to run some fast bikes for a little cash. your talkin up bikes to be such an unstoppable force ( i agree they are damn fast) but i know of a half dozen(maybe more) cars that would beat an R1. V8+poweradder+built right = bye bye bike.
i told you about my friend beating an RC51 and another bike in his camaro, i saw that with my own eyes....... go ahead and call BS on that, so i can show you his track video and dyno graphs too. and he just ordered more stuff yesterday so there will be even more beating of the "unbeatable" bikes.
