This video does demonstrate basic physics and car control. In the heat of the moment, the officer made the wrong decision. Slow in and fast out is always the best tactic, on the track and on the street. Once he realized he was going too fast to make the corner, he should have bailed, but that is an easy call to make in the comfort of our houses rather than at 4 in the morning on a high speed pursuit. I am glad he was not seriously hurt, hope he and other officers can learn from the event, and also hope that they got the Jerk in the white car who endangered us all by iniating a high speed pursuit.

OT begins...

Please remember for all that we don't want these guys behind us with their lights on, we empower them in our society to enforce the laws that we and our predecessors have democratically established for this society. They are asked to lay their lives on the line each day, and for not a lot of money. It always amazes me when people complain about the police not doing enough about problem 'X'. 'X' is not a police problem, it is society's problem. IF people would just realize that we all are society and assist our collective enforcement arm (ie the police) we would all be in a better position. Kind of like the person that walks down the street littering complaining about the garbege problem in this town and why don't 'they' do something about it. If we all did our bit, we would need far less hired help and our taxes would be that much lower.
