not signing ticket=bad...end of story
signing it just says that you understand youve been written a ticket and will show up in court to contest it. Cops really dont care whether or not you think you should get the ticket or not, thats what the court is for. This isnt the best system, since cops do write BS tickets and then you have to waste time getting it taken care of in court

Case in point-I got pulled over a while back for my taillights and brakelights being out late at night in Dublin. I knew the cop had been tailing me for awhile, and I had been having some electrical issues lately, but I didn't know my lights were out. Cop flips on his lights, pulls me over, and tell me they're out. I ask the cop if I can step out of the car and take a look myself. He kindly consents and I walk around back and ask him to step on the brakes. Sure enough, I have no lights working whatsoever. I walk around and jiggle some wires underneath the dash, they click on, and he tells me to drive safe and have a nice night. Now, do you think if I hadn't got out and checked that he would've written me up a citation? Ofcourse! Do I think it's good to question and not sign stuff in ignorance? Ofcourse! But you guys can sign yourself into citations. Go ahead. Cops love it when there's no resistance.

Lol, first time I have ever heard of a Domestic since I was into streetracing in 1996+ I remember driving my 89 LX Coupe Mustang with Goodyear Slicks, and not having to worry about them on my car. Cops would stare dead at the tires, hence they have a 5" pizza slice size mark that is painted white on the sidewall, a little hard to not telll they were slicks, lol. Oh well I guess eventually everybody from soccer moms to almost stock cars will get messed with for whatever BS thing the cops feel like getting you for.
As for signing for the ticket, I still believe it is just showing the court that you got your copy, just fight it or question the officer on the offense, and do not make them mad. That's why we have ticketassasin.com for

Agreed, he will want you to sign it after he's written it up. Otherwise, that would be a waste of his time. That's why you should question it before it's written up. If the kid would have questioned it before hand, things would have gone better. Some people are cowards.
So if they wear uniforms, we should not question anything, because they have "authority" to do anything. Sure, that's what the SS did over in Germany. Weren't they so great? People didn't resist because they wore a uniform and they had "authority."

why? there's no law against filming a cop.
if they can record you from their car, why cant you?
keeps everyone honest...
now, a filming of 2 parties by a 3rd party without the other 2 knowing about it, is illegal...

I'm just happy to see a domestic finally get pulled over for a BS violation
EDIT: just checked out the DOT Hoosier tires on tirerack.com, and atleast for the ones on the site, it says that though they are DOT approved, they are not suitable for highway use

The real problem is in the 'judgement call's'. For instance, if you get a speeding ticket for going 5 over on an empty road at 3 in the morning. You say there was noone in danger, so it should slide. The cop says 'Take it up with the judge.' Then the judge says 'That was up to the cop'. So all the sudden neither the cop nor the judge/court are responsible for answering the question why was the ticket written. Each can pass the buck without any repricusion and the citizen is the only one who loses.
