They were just taking out some of their emotions, I'm sure the kids will be fine in a few days.
What were those sticks anyways? What kind of wound do they inflict?

I believe what they did was JUST. and more likely under direct orders from higher up. They did controlled the situation in a "Non-leathal way"...
But would those kids be picking up AKs and killing coalition forces later on?... Heck yeah.... specially what happened to them. but one thing for sure, those kids would probably think twice before doing it again...
Bottom line is... We can only see a portion of the story here. The cameraman, made some stupid comments (he's still entitled to his own opinion)... to me, thats what makes this video one sided. as for the soldiers, I think did what they're supposed to do. nobody died... (I hope). and from the looks of it, they did came REALLY Close... may be too close to the Base Entrance Check point... (I'd feel very disrespected, and maybe paranoid, if someone steps at my doorstep and throws rocks or maybe grenades (you never know what you'll get next time...) Besides, those kids (or shall I say, young ADULTS) were not very apreciative of what we've done for them. I should know this.... I just got back from Iraq. As a Medic, we provided FREE medical check ups and services for the locals, but what we have in return, is some, valuable info for the ENEMIES, about our camp, and little support with regards to counter intelligence. (We lost two guys because of this).

nobody deserves that kind of treatment, there lil F***EN kids for petes sake,
if they grow up an pik up AK's then an try to come up aganist us, then thats when we mow them down,
your saying they controlled the situation in a non lethal way, so if im kicking your *** while your down on the ground, your gonna say thats non lethal,
LOL THATS A JOKE MATE, hitting somebody in any way is lethal, im guessin you guys didnt study martial arts,
and if it was orders from the boys above, then they should answer for the actions of the soliders, an not the soliders them selves

I guess I can say I'm guilty of a "lethal" attack because during one of our patrols, a kid keeps on hitting us with rocks until we give him food or money (and he wants ALL your food not just a piece, but ALL that you have)... all I did was hit him back with a pebble rock using my sling shot...

another piece of my experience... our camp gets protesters every now and then, but as you know, you shouldn't take them lightly because, the were times that members of Mehdi Army was intermingled with the protesters. carefully studying our moves... we detained at least two of them and had positive ID. one of them is just 16 years old...
HAHAHAH did anyone else catch the swift kick to the back of the nuts near the end>>!@#(*&!@ bahahahahaha but on another note ive seen worse beatings from the cops on a traffic stop and did people forget that not too long ago kids in school would get beat with a huge wooden paddle for talking in class?
