Thumbs up Another +1 for Ed at EQTuning

Got road tuned by Ed today and I am thoroughly impressed and satisfied. My car is finally making the power I wanted from the beginning and pulls incredibly hard. Now I truly realize what "smooth turbo power" really is!

Mods for 04 STi:
stock vf39 IWG
generic bellmouth dp
perrin CBE
GM 3 port boost solenoid
stock fuel pump
stock injectors
NGK one step colder sparkplugs

I know, the torque on this is insane. Ed thought I had aftermarket headers!

Yup, Ed is the man! He tuned my stock turbo STi, made 294 tq / 272 hp on a catted setup....I need to go catless and get some aftermarket boost control... Im jealous of the torque!!

BTW, how much boost?

Enjoy!

Peak boost was set at 20psi. AFR was at 10.5:1 to be on the safe side.

Welcome to the club - I got my tune a few weeks back before he headed south. It was fun doing those 100 mph runs - it got there real fast and there was more to be had!

All graphs use some form of smoothing, this doesn't mean that the power is not smooth. Road dyno plots use smoothing especially because the data is relatively slow and noisy. It still provides plenty of resolution, however, to identify problem spots in the power band. Here's an 07 STI with a Cobb Stage 2 OTS map for example (not so smooth):

As you can see, torque hits late and there is quite a bit of timing being pulled around 5000-6000RPM due to knock. This is of course reflected by the big dip in the graph.

So while my graphs do look smooth, it takes quite a bit of work to get them that way and its not just a result of using smoothing algorithms. The really important part, however, is how the cars feel. Just about every one of my customers comments on how smooth the tunes feel. Many of them have been to other tuners as well so they have something to compare to .

Thanks
