Remote switches are also available for $79.00 shipped. The remote switch fits right in your dash board, and allows instant access to the maps you store in your UTEC. So, let's say you want a map for the street and one for the track? No problem - its all right there at the touch of a button.
For those new WRX owners not familar with the UTEC, it is a full programmable engine management system that controls fuel, ignition timing and boost. Installation is a snap, as it connects directly to your factory ecu (so all factory ecu controls for idle up, cold start, etc are still maintained!). The UTEC also comes preloaded with a base map that best suits your cars current level of modifications. Once connected, you can use any old laptop, most PDA's, or anything with a Hyeprterminal connection to start your datalogging and programming. The supplied instruction book is extremely complete, and will walk you through the basics of how the UTEC does what it does, and how you can go about fine tuning it for your particular car. very straighforward and easy to use, and with the wealth of knowledge in the WRX tuning community, its a fantastic mod to do, and offers tremendous bang for the buck.
Whether your plans are for some basic bolt ons, or for a full out 500 hp monster complete with larger turbo, bigger intercooler, big injectors, the UTEC will control it all, and allow to you make the most of the mods on your car.
