They are built with reliability in mind. They are made to handle the power levels that you are looking for.

Obviously… the higher the stage, the greater the power potential.

I consider the Stage 5 to be a 'race only' motor. Aluminum block, Iron Sleeves. It might need some care that the other packages do not.

That is my favorite motor. VERY daily driveable.

Alex, your motor is the same essentially as the stage 5. I call yours a stage 4.5. That was the days prior to the EJ257 block. We used to use and still do, 2.2 and 2.5RS blocks as cores.

Sleeving provides enough lateral support so the block itself is just as strong from one to another. Open, semi-closed, closed.

How much power can be expected off of the different stages?

Hp figures really depends on turbo and other variables, but I can put it in easy terms to understand.

Stg 1 motor will handle up to 25psi daily driven on 93 oct or better, and short burst to 30psi with racegas. 7000rpm limit.

Stg 2 motor will take 20-21psi on pump gas and no more than 24 psi on race gas.
7000 rpm limit.

Stg 3 will take same boost levels as stg 2, but rpm limit can be increase to 7500. It is the stock steel liner in the cylinder that limits boost on these ej257 based motors.

Stg 4 will take pretty much whatever you can put into it within reason. 30 psi, no problem. Add a 50 shot, no problem, but with decreased boost. It is common to see hp figures at or above 400@ the wheels with this engine if you have the supporting mods to go along with the block. I personally have seen over 420@ the wheels with 23psi on 93/100 octane mix with a poor tune. And that was on a Dyno Dynamics dyno which reads a little lower than the rest.

Stg 4.5 and stg 5 are basically full race engine. They will take whatever, but the block does have it's limits. The pistons and rods will survive under the harshest conditions, as will the thick steel sleeve. The block has limits though. It's not a matter of cylinders coming apart, but actually blowing the case halves apart. There is only so much it will take, but I doubt most will be able to produce the level of hp that these engines will withstand.

Yes, we offer head packages as well. The website lists all the options there are available for cylinder heads and has pricing as well.

I do not take 2.0 engines as cores. I usually just throw them away. I do take wrx cylinder heads if they are in good usable shape.

Install charge of shortblock is $650 + gaskets.

So how much would it be for a stage 4 Engine and headwork (Port/Polish, ect...) and the same level with cams? I am not really sure what cams that I would want so whatever you would recommend with that set up.
