NY Inspection Help!

I have a 02 WRX with a MRT Turbo Back Exhaust with a High Flow Cat. My check engine has been on since about 10k after I got that exhaust 3 years ago, but the problem is this year NY decided to make all these crazy new laws and I dont think i am going to pass inspection. I tried just pulling the battery then getting tested but it reads out not ready and I dont pass!! Anyone got any fixes to pass inspection. I dont have a shop or air toolz so I can't just take it off then put it back on......... Or I would...
Figured I would ask you guys since you always seem to be up on things/.... ANd I am guessing half of you are in the same trouble as me????

Have you gotten the code read to be find out what it actually is? Probably a P0420 catalyst inefficiency code (yes you can get that with the high flow cat, it's know to happen sometimes) but you need to know for sure. Go to Autozone when the CEL comes on again and have them scan it and give you the code. If it is P0420 you need to do the "mechanical fix" to the rear 02 sensor which should eliminate the CEL and allow you to pass inspection. There is plenty of info on this fix on the forums, search here and NASIOC. Do NOT do one of the electrical (wired-in) "fixes" as these will interfere with the readiness tests and cause you to fail inspection.
FYI, the OBDII inspection requires the following conditions to be met for you to pass- CEL must be functional and go off when the car is running, no stored codes, and all OBDII readiness tests completed. When you clear codes with a scanner, or disconnect the battery, the status of the readiness tests is set back to "not complete" and they must begin running all over again.

You'll find instructions in the threads that turn up when you search. As for where to get it, you make it from standard spark plug anti-foul adapters that are available at most parts stores.

You were trying to remove the rear 02, right? You might try using some penetrant like PB Blaster, just don't get any on the business end of the sensor or it can be ruined. Sometimes they are crossthreaded and can be difficult to remove, if that's the problem you might have a hard time reinstalling it. In this case the bung may have to be re-tapped.

You're supposed to use two. I referred you to search for threads with instructions because I haven't done this myself, but I do know that much.

Yea I found a thread of some company selling the fix, but that appears to be only using 1 not 2, so I wonder if I need a second one for it

You do not need to buy this from someone else at an inflated price. According to the info I've seen you are supposed to use two of them.
