Is it acually legal in New Jersey to have you license plate sitting in the car on the dash on not mounted on the front bumber? I've seen a few cars who have done this. And, if it is legal, does it make me more prone to get pulled over for just that reason?

 

Yes it is definately a great reason for the "law" to pull you over. No there is probably no written law about it being afixes to the plate bracket. Move to PA they don't have to worry about it.

 

Legal or not if you have an accident thats a deadly projectile in the cabin.

 

when i had my truck i took my front licens plate off and replace it with a pow plate the cops never pulled me over some of the even waved at me.but i was told that its illegal.i plus its not safe to have the plate on the dash.

 

in nj, i believe it is not illegal to not have a front plate. as for it being in the windshield, they could pull you over for a hazardous item being placed their that can cut your neck off if you stop short lol.
