5th Annual ClubH2O Superbowl Fundraiser
This is my first post to this forum, but I think you'll find it to be an important one. I'm the VP of ClubH2O, the largest Audi/VW club in the USA. I have been organizing a fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation for the past 5 years on Superbowl Sunday. The fundraiser goes from 10am - 3pm, which allows plenty of time for everyone to get home before the game. Over the years the event has grown to the point where owners of all mports have been attending and supporting the JDRF. I am posting this in hoping that some members of this forum will attend/spread the word to come attend and support this event. It's free to attend, and if you wish to make a donation you are more than welcome to. Either way, you'll have a great time checking out all the other imports in attendance. As I'm typing this there are caravans being organized for ClubH2O & friends to attend from all over the northeast. Last year I had 150 cars ateend and we raised $2,000 for the JDRF....not bad for a 35 degree day, huh? The following info will explain everything about the event including directions on how to get to the location. Hopefully I can look forward to your support this year and for years to come. Thanks in advance.

The following is basic info from the main thread..........
I am happy to announce that ClubH2O will be holding it's 5th annual fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation on January 26th, 2003 at Wantagh Park, Long Island, New York. (Superbowl Sunday) Last year we raised $2,000 for the JDRF and we look forward to breaking that record this time around. We also look forward to having more than the 141 cars from last year attend. We will be holding the same raffle format for items that have been donated by numerous tuners/supply stores throughout the country. ClubH2O & JDRF hope we have your continued support for a great cause. The weather should cooperate and we can have as great a day as last year.
Thanks again and hope to see you on Jan 26th.
DIRECTIONS:
Once you get on to Long Island. You can take any one of the three parkways/expressway.
If you take Grand Central Parkway, it's name will change to Northern State Parkway once you enter Nassau County. Continue on NSP until you hit Wantgah Parkway. (It may also be called Wantagh State Parkway...either way pay attention because that exit ramp kind of sneaks up on ya') ***** Take WSP south all the way until you hit Merrick Road. Believe it or not I think as you come south on WSP that the Merrick Road exit ramp heading west will NOT have a traffice light for you to drive directly across Merrick Road because that is where the park entrance is. I think the ramp MERGES you onto Merrick Road. Therefore you have to be very careful and once you get onto Merrick Road find a side street to turn left on to, turn around, get back on to Merrick Rd heading east, (for one block or so) then turn into the park entrance which will be on the right, right before the Wantagh Parkway overpass with the deli also on your right side. It sounds kind of tricky, but when you guys pull off the parkway exit ramp you'll probably see the park entrance on the other side of the street and figure out what you have to do in 2 seconds. To keep it as basic as possible, the entrance to Wantagh Park is 50 feet west of the Wantagh Parkway right off of Merrick Road, next to the deli.)
For those taking the LIE (495), head east until you enter Nassau County then start looking for the Northern State Parkway exit. Take the ramp that merges you on to the Northern State Parkway heading east, then follow the rest of the directions as mentioned above from *****.
For those who take Belt Parkway, stay on Belt until you can merge on to the Southern State Parkway heading east. Take SSP east until you come to Wantagh Parkway (might be Wantagh State Parkway) and get on WP heading south. From here follow ***** from directions above.
If you're coming from east of park, just take Northern or Southern State Parkway to Wantagh Parkway south, then follow from **** above.
Thanks again and I hope to see some of you there.
