What do you want from the Gov't?

I am full of "Kerry Sucks" and "Bush Sucks".
If you look inside your heart, (or in the case of dr3, that lump of coal), you'll realize that they both blow.

My question is simple:

"What do you expect from your Government?"

Paul

I want to be extremely powerful and rule with an iron fist. I'd like to throw the thousands of individuals that disagree with my views off a three story building numerous times until their skulls shatter, then kill the rest of their families like a human baloute in the glasslike sand. Then I’d like to take my 57 Bel Air out for a spin and admire the remainder of my vast car collection shortly thereafter. Finally, I’d like to take a nice steamy bath and bask in my vast pornography collection while lighting my cigar with a handful of dinar... errr... dollars. Then do it again the next day, the day after that and so forth…

Hmmm… I think someone’s already had this dream so I’ll think of something else and get back to you shortly…

I want stability. I'll pay my taxes and whatever in exchange for being left alone. I don't want the government watching me, and i don't want the goverment punishing me for victimless crimes.

Contradiction. Having money confiscated from your paycheck is not "being left alone"!

What do you think the IRS is doing? They stick their nose into every transaction between you and your employer.

more accountability...

i believe in some aspects of social welfare. for instance, i believe in programs designed to help foster kids who get screwed on a regular basis and who need help from society at large.

It is appalling at how many govt jobs there are and how little these people do on a regular basis. you go into virtually any govt building and people dont give a ****. they are unproductive and inefficient. with perpetual job stability there is no incentive to perform.

because of this, programs such as early emancipation programs for foster youth get budgeted out.

so what do i expect? perform or privatize. there is truly a need and a place for govt assistance

Thank you Logicbot 3000, but if you want to break it down to such a trivial level then technically an airplane flying over my house is not being "left alone". IRS agents dont come to my house and play volleyball without asking, and i hardly ever have to clean up dishes from an impromtu IRS BBQ held in my backyard without permission. I will always pay taxes, and as the saying goes, only it and death are certain. I can't fight taxes, so i accept them. However, i don't want video cameras installed in my bathroom because the terrorists hate our freedom. I don't think hippies should be jailed for smoking weed and getting sorta stupid and hungry, and if i want to hole up in my room for 4 days on a vicodin binge - then i should be able to. The only negative to come out of that is the local supply of mountain dew will be reduced by an almost undetctable amount.
