Thumbs up Arnold for Gov?

Well, it becomes more apparent by the day that Davis is on the way out. If you havn't signed the recall, you can do so at most grocery stores.

What do you guys think of Arnold Swartzenager (Spelling) for Governer.

He has a Business degree from the University of Wisconson, and he is a consertive.

He knows that socialism is a flop, yet he is compasionate.

I think he is perfect for the Job. He gets my vote. What do you guys think of him? I hope that we don't have to suffer through another Democrat ruining our state via out of control spending. I just would like to see better gas, and less restrictions on cars (As in the doing away with the CARB certification on modified parts).

And just don't raise my taxes. We already pay too much.

Gray Davis spent a lifetime doing things to prepare him for the governorship... he's an intelligent man... and he still screwed it up. How good is someone with zero experience with running an organization larger than his personal staff? Oh wait, some other conservative won a office with a resume about like that not long ago... things went just peachy didn't they?

Seriously... I think this time, I'm voting for the resume rather than the politics. Not that anybody REALLY knows how to run the 5th largest economy in the world...

You mean next fall. Way to represent your fellow conservatives.

actually, Arnold is more involved in politics that most people realize. apart from being involved (in a somewhat superficial manner) with the Reagan administration's council on physical fitness, the guy also married a member of the Kennedy clan. you don't just wake up one morning and decide to run for governor, it takes lots of forethought and planning. he's been active in the Republican party for years, though admittedly hasn't been very public about it.
personally, i'd vote for him. while his english is accented (whose arround here isn't?) he is an intelligent and articulate man. the fact that i agree more with his politics than with any major party candidate in the last three elections doesn't hurt either. oh, and there is no way a democratic candidate can get the sort of name recognition that Arnold already has.

I was just about to post the most important phrase in politics, and you beat me to it:

"Name reconition"

You don't get much more that Arnie. Hell, he is one of the few people in the world, let alone politics, where all that you must do is mention his first name and people know who you are referring to. Ichiro is another!

This my friends, is why he will be victorious. Coupled with the fact that he is also a seemingly genuine personality. You can observe him, and tell that he really cares about the things that he is discussing. I have no reason to believe that he is not.

actors are people too!

sometimes you have to see beyond the 'label'.

hate him or like him... at least he's trying to do something instead of people w/ a lot of talk w/ not much action.

"hi mr. governor... what did you say?"

do i really have to go into Enron, PG&E, IMClone, or any of the other recent major companies who told their shareholders to go f&%k off? now, do you want one of those bastards running CA? just imagine, Larry Ellison: Governor. California would perform a hostile takeover of Oregon and Nevada personally, i'd trust Arnold more.
