U.S. failed to use best radar for N. Korea missile

Link to story

Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates denied permission for the U.S. Northern Command to use the Pentagon's most powerful sea-based radar to monitor North Korea's recent missile launch, precluding officials from collecting finely detailed launch data or testing the radar in a real-time crisis, current and former defense officials said.
The current admin would rather spend time/money spying on us than North Korea.

So they would rather be spying on us, what a shame.

We're replacing our radar with hug machines and Jolly-Rancher stealth disbursement vehicles.

That was a pretty in depth article.

I was never aware that we had such a powerful radar system. Makes AEGIS look like fish finder.

Yeah this Gates guy must be a horrible choice, especially seeing how he was appointed by the previous President...to replace good ol' Rummy...

^^^^^ Seriously?????^^^^^^ You go to war with the army you have not the army you wish you had? My chihouha would be a better sec defense. Rumsfelds shortcomings were many and great. He is the major reason Iraq has failed and taken so long and been so expensive. I know you were joking so I will stop my rant now.

Gates is actually a good Sec. of Defense and has his priorities in check. I like a guy that is critical of defense spending that works in the department so that resources are put where they're needed. Trust me there's a reason Obama kept him even though he was employed by Bush. Because the troops love him and he gets the job done without sugarcoating bull****. Rumsfeld on the other hand, swear to God I'd deck him in the face if I ever met him. He is absolutely worthless.

Interesting...but seriously, when we, the average citizens, know what's really up with N.K.'s shenanigans, do you think the Gov. really needs to use such devices?

Ok we get it, you want negotiating leverage. You can stop launching your old *** rockets over Japan.
