She cheated, she didn't split the barrel shroud.

Yeah I caught that too. Still impressive for an 11 year old though.

My 8yr old son knows how to apply SPORTS to the AR family of weapons.
Middle daughter...6yrs... knows how operate a Ruger SA revolver.
Youngest daughter...4yrs... can load 1911, AR, & AK magazines.

All of them have excellent trigger/muzzle discipline.

Guns are nothing more than a tool, be it a saw, hammer, or blender.
There's nothing wrong about teaching/educating your child about firearms, in fact, it's irresponsible to keep them ignorant about guns.

+1 I always thought Safe firearm handling and Marksmanships should be a mandatory class in High school required for graduation.

Is that the functions check for that rifle? I forget now. Forgot all about SPORTS too. Of course I no-go'd my first attempt at my EIB at that station. Got it the second time after I realized no-gos went back to paint the barracks.

I was taught at 5yrs old by my late Granddad. He was a great shot in both the military and as a civilian. Although most of the shots he took were exaggerated over the years we went hunting most were monumental hunting shots, especially the ones he took out of state for bigger game.

Once I proved that I was mature enough I remember getting my first Daisy lever action BB Gun propped-up on the side of my closet at 8yrs. Funny, I didn't end-up getting my first real pocket knife until 10 and now I collect them. He taught my Dad to shoot and hunt as well. Great man.

According to him my mom and aunt could shoot flowers off their stems with a .22 when they were little. Grandma confirmed the story. Now my Mom whines like a wimp when I show her how to pull back the slide of a 1911.

Paul, now you need to practice dime and dowel drills.

Hell no that's not the functions check for that weapon, not even close. She never went near selector switch to safe with trigger squeeze. Unacceptable and a no-go at this station. Beat your face.
