Jobs are needed to bring some confidence back into a battered and bruised U.S economy , thats the first step to get consumers spending again and if all we get from this stimulis is jobs it's better than doing nothing at all.

How will Barry's Plan create jobs?

Yeah that's what I'm concerned about. It just seems like another short-sighted band-aid that won't actually fix anything and will only serve as a distraction to keep the masses happy for a brief period of time. If the stimulus bill created public works I could see it helping, but to my knowledge it doesn't do that.

You bring your car to me because the Check Engine light is on, and as such, you can not pass smog & register the car.
I pull the code, do some diag work, and tell you that a new O2 sensor is needed.
I also notice that your wiper blades are shot, a brake light is out, a cv boot is torn, and the windshield is cracked.

I give you quote for $9240.45, of which, $300 is for the O2 sensor.
Further, I demand that you allow me to fix all of the other problems before I get to the O2 sensor, that you failing to act NOW on these items will reasult in your O2 sensor failing even more.

What do you do?
is that denso with the plug?

If you were really confident, you wouldn't need to stuff socks down there.

You'd be surprised how much buyer "confidence" influences the economy.

Pssst...the socks go in front, not the back.

The entire economy is hinged on buyer confidence. Even if incomes are high and unemployment is low, if consumers aren't confident in their financial stability they'll clamp down on unnecessary spending, which will basically create the problem they were worried about in the first place. The consumer market is a very fickle beast.

exactly my point, the media has beat panic into the publics head everytime you turn on the t.v or radio its "economic crisis" or recession if anything they should try to be positive in such a delicate situation because if it goes from a small amount of consumers spending to none the country will collapse and we will be far worse off than ever imagined.

This is 100% on the money (no pun intended).

Ever since Paulson ran into the House screaming about a bailout last year, nearly all of Washington (and every Democrat) has been using fear mongering to get these bills passed. Obama is the head of the fear mongering commitee which is apparent in his speeches and interviews. The media is just running with what they're given. The media isn't trying to scare anyone right now, Washington is.

Point taken.

However, Barry's promised us change w/o telling us what will change.
And now, that he's been elected, change is coming in the form of Socialism dictated by the Democrats.

In order for the sheeple to buy into this, Barry's gotta use fear mongering, because he has nothing else.
