He spent most of the time kissing the asses of the middle class, and the rest of the time making promises that he either won't be able to deliver, or shouldn't.

Sounds a lot like his campaign and accomplishments to date.

I'm so sick of anything coming out of Washington. You couldn't pay me to watch the state of the union this year.

As a non-Obama supporter with some listening ability, I enjoyed most of what he said. His speech AT LEAST talked about important and plausible ideas unlike a Bush. If he could actually do a lot of the things he said, I believe the country would be better off. I don't know if most of you know, but it is getting harder and harder to pay for college for most people. All I have to say is AT LEAST he is talking about how to solve the issues. He took part of the blame for things, but he also did a great job of calling out both Repubs and Dems in Congress and their inability to even attempt to get have anything positive come out of their meetings.

Personally, I would like to hear Republicans ACTUALLY come up with ideas to solve critical problems in the US, but instead they sit on their thumbs and talk ****. Talking **** does not fix ANYTHING. NOTHING. ZILCH.

Once again, I did not vote for Obama.

So if you are one of these people that cant keep an open mind, explain to me how we should fix our infrastructure, education system, college loans, healthcare, get our country out of debt, fix unemployment etc etc. WHILE getting the old, slow, pompous US Congress.

Talk is cheap and actions speak louder than words so hopefully he can start uplifting the nation in the next 3 years. Whether YOU like him or not, he IS our president, so you can whine all day and night if you want or you can use what you brain you may have to actually come up with some good ideas.

Oh and don't forget that he is trying to fix 8 years of previous bull****.

Yeah, but hes a lot of talk. Thats all he has been and, unless he grows a pair and stops being a politician and starts being a leader, its all he ever will be.

And please stop with the 8 years of Bush crap, he stepped in knowing what he was getting himself into. Resorting to that cop out is his acknowledgment he has done nothing. At the end of 4 years when he's up for re-election, and hasn't really done much besides deliver some fluffy speeches, is he going to point the finger at a president 4 years departed?

I hope he doesn't point a finger at Bush after 4 years, but it is EXTREMELY relevant to note that one cannot fix the all of the Bush mistakes in a mere year. You have to realize that Bush ****ed things up for 8 years in a row. 8 ****ing years! If Obama has done nothing to strengthen the nation in 4 years I pray that he doesn't get reelected.

Obama talked about companies employing more Americans instead of out sourcing labor. When was the last time a high ranking Repub said that? I would like to know.

Once again, I would like you and anyone else that is talking **** about Obama to actually provide logical and reasonable solutions to the problems America is facing.

Oh and I can knowingly step in to a cow pasture knowing that there is ****, try to avoid the ****, and still get **** on my shoes.

I don't doubt he entered a mess, and I'm not defending Bush, I just think it is poor form to always have a fall guy when you're in the hot seat.

I did like him saying he wants to keep employment in America. Now he should step up and send some unemployed US tradesmen to Haiti to rebuild. Thats the follow through I expect from a President. Not a bunch of mildly threatening words to the US corporate way of doing business. Follow through is whats needed.

I'm not in a position to make leadership decisions, thats why he was on TV tonight and I was watching. What I think isn't really worth anything because you'll never make everyone happy. Which leads me to my final thought on this, I think he has been stagnant for a year not because he is "cleaning up a mess", but because I think he's totally overwhelmed between what needs to be done and what his party wants him to do. That abortion of a health care bill is a good example of this; great idea in theory, totally destroyed by all the little hands dipping themselves into the mix. And they're still trying to push that disaster through when the majority of Americans don't want it. Thats change I can't believe in.

I agree with you and I stated it before. Congress has their thumbs up their ***'s and is incapable of getting anything done. Obama was the first president in decades to have full rain of Congress yet they still failed to get anything accomplished. That is a sign of bureaucratic BS. It is lobbying and BS "politics" that got us into this mess. I forgot to mention that Obama called out Congess for succumbing to lobby groups, earmarking, and even proposed that we secure our southern border while hinting at getting money back through the immigrants (most likely through legalization). I was honestly shocked that Obama would say that since some big lobbyists probably helped get him elected.

Either way. Obama has a lot of ground to cover if he plans on accomplishing anything he proposed, but at least he is speaking about very major issues instead of avoiding them. He had a very unsuccessful first year, so hopefully he can do something positive for someone. If not... the American people are screwed.

I was equally disappointed in the state of the union address and the i-pad release. I wasn't expecting much out of either.

I think Obama, like most politicians (across party lines), told people what they wanted to hear and appeared as one of them. But a wolf in sheep's clothing is not discovered by his appearance, but rather what it says and does.

I think Obama and the majority of politicians' fruits bear witness as to who and what they are. It is by the fruit of the tree that we are able to discover if it is a good or bad tree. No bad tree will produce good fruit and no good tree will produce bad fruit. It is by what they do that we can determine who they really are.

I think Obama is very funny, charismatic, and relatable. Which I believe is the sheep's clothing. The wolf that Obama and all the other progressives (including the Bushes and almost every president since the turn of the 20th century) truly are has become apparent in their actions and what they pursue as we move towards bigger government and ignore the Constitution.

These men are not of the same sound minds of our forefathers.
