Nader was being a cynical sore loser. His statement rife with contempt for the winner. Nader would have probably had some equally sharp-edged phrase for McCain if he had won.
This is not the first time Nader has said something that can be interpreted as racist. Frankly, I think he thrives on the attention and seeks to play the role of gadfly. Nader may be a perpetual loser (literally), but he won't go away anytime soon.
